The green mountains were trying to escape the fire that consumed the earth. In the stuffy air, a breeze led us to a new task: explore the Laundry of the Panasqueira Mines, abandoned 15 years ago and try to integrate into the miner’s reality. A desert village expected us, the sharp eyes of one or two locals were following our steps. Down 1470 feet in to the dark we went on to meet the miners. We heard stories and danced with them. |
