DROPS OF BREATH

Screening of the film that captures the world’s first underwater dance performance, followed by a discussion with the audience.

---

In September 2015 in Greece, the choreographers Sophie Bulbulyan (France) and Apostolia Papadamaki (Greece), in collaboration with Lia Haraki (Cyprus) staged the world’s first underwater dance-visual performance. A total of 14 body-abled and disabled dancers from France, Greece and Cyprus, including three children, performed the underwater choreography Drops of Breath. The performance was captured on camera during 14 days of underwater filming. The original music by Tryfon Koutsourelisisriveting and the underwater set and costumes designed by Giorgos Georgiou conjure a unique visual landscape.

Component of the The Underwater Heart of the Mediterranean project, selected by Creative Europe (Dec 2014-Dec 2016)
