SANDBOX - Grains in Memory
Adriana Moreno (BR)
Installation
21 to 30 Nov . Monday to Friday . 2PM to 8PM > Espaço Santa Catarina

SandBox is an interactive installation based on sound memories, narratives collected from different people in Portugal, that evoke the sea as an element of belonging. These narratives were appropriated and remixed with different other sound sources, thus forming sound fragments (whistles, music, noises, melody, dialogues, laughter, onomatopeia, natural sounds…). The recordings were gathered during two years in several places in Portugal, aiming to discover stories and scenarios to portray the sea and its relations in different contexts: emotional, ecological, political, social and economical. To listen to the fragments, you need to use the headset and then dip your hands in the sand and move them around to start the narrative paths. While interacting, you can listen, tune, mute and record sounds, according to your immersive experience.
