Vo'Arte was born of the desire to produce, disclose and enhance contemporary creation, based on the merging vindication of artistic expressions, developing national and international projects that support the interchange and trans-disciplinary creation.
Vo'Arte is an innovative project that promotes creative dialogue and cultural decentralizing, with a view to strengthening relations between communities and cultures, as well as enlarging and developing of new audiences.
It produces CiM - Dance Company wich includes interpreters with and withou disability and celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2017!
Vo'Arte has participated in European and National Capitals of Culture Oporto 2001, Coimbra 2003, Faro 2005 and Guimarães 2012, at the World Exhibitions Expo'98 and Saragoza 2008, at the European Football Championship Euro 2004 and at the Boccia World Championship 2010, in the Unlimited Dance Festival in Athens (2015) with innovative proposals in dance/performance and cinema creations, as well as formation and in 2012, with CiM, got the chancelleryof the Year of Portugal in Brazil. Vo'Arte was distinguied in 2016 with an Honorable Mention of BPI CAPACITAR, in 2015 with the National Culture Access Award in Intellectual Accessibility by Acesso Cultura, and in 2014 with the National Inclusion Award in the Culture, Sport and Leisure category for the work developed in the area of creation, programming, training and inclusion, in the past 20 years.
Vo'Arte co-organizes innovative European projects as Signandsoundtheatre.eu (Creative Europe Programme - European Commision) and REAL - Reflective Expressive Artistic Learning (Programa ERASMUS+) that aims to explore new ways of producing inclusive art for an inclusive audience.
It was selected to the PARTIS programme by Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian with the artisic and inclusive project Geração SOMA, where children and their greatness are the inspiration source of this project!
It was also co-organizer of the European projects Fragile, Unlimited Access and EVDH - European Video Dance Heritage.
It has obtained the prestigious recognition of EFFE – Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe, 2015-2016 label, with the InShadow Festival.
Vo’Arte integrates the networks CQD - Dancing Cities, StudioTrade, REDE - Structures Association to Contemporary Dance and is partner of Acesso Cultura.
A Vo'Arte has the support of DGARTES, Ministério da Cultura, Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, APCL - Associação Paralisia Cerebral de Lisboa.
