Ring the Changes+
Chisato Minamimura & Nick Rothwell| Japan & United Kingdom
6 DEC _ 9PM > Teatro São Luiz | 30’ | 2014
Digital performance created by deaf dance artist Chisato Minamimura in collaboration with software artist Nick Rothwell and digital pioneers body>data>space, integrating today’s digital technologies to her exploration of ‘visual sound’ choreography.
Nick’s coding algorithms are a creative response to Chisato’s mathematical score of space and movement. The work you will experience is a dialogue between the sound produced by the dancers’ movements and generative digital visuals.
The result is a playful exploration of visual sound, the result of a unique collaboration between dance and digital artists, hearing and non-hearing sensibilities.
